Easter flowers

Flowers opening2987Here's some more images I missed from Easter. These flowers hung around the dinner table for a few days. The colours turned out quite well I think.

Though the Nikon 17-55mm 2.8 ED/DX lens isn't really a macro lens it still lets me get up pretty close. The tough part is it's super tight depth of field when you get in close. Moving the lens a millimeter closer or further away can make or break the shot. It would be interesting to shoot with a dedicated macro lens to see if it makes things just a wee bit easier.

If you can imagine, I took the next two images standing on a chair while bending over at the waist and hovering over the flowers. What a perfectly stable tripod like shooting platform. ;-)
