Fueling up

A quick iPhone photo of... "The packing has begun".

Less than 36hrs and we'll be heading to the airport for Worlds in Canmore. Doreen is eager to see friends and family, I mostly eager to see what half a year of training is going to look like once I can toe the line in just over 9 days.

Now it's time for all the administration involved in getting things together in various bags and the bike box. Making sure there's enough for several days of pre-riding the course and 25hrs of racing on the day of, plus arranging all the Pit Crew stuff.

Clean underwear and t-shirts aren't that important at the moment, just as long as I have enough clean racing kit I'll be happy. ;-)

Thanks to John for looking after Pico while we are gone and also keeping an eye on the house, hopefully he won't be too inconvenienced pulling shots on the espresso machine and roasting coffee in the garage.

Well, it's back to packing...

Several hours later...

Taking a break from packing and I just got this via email. The course profile for Worlds and it is showing 20kms per lap. I had initially heard the soloists would have a 3,000 vertical feet gain per lap but it's being reported now as only 2,100 vertical feet gain per lap. Thigh crushing goodness!!!
