It's been a while since my last blog post, it took quite a few days to get back into a normal groove upon arriving back in Canada, now that is done I can catchup on the last bit of Australian travel after Worlds.

Sorry about the quality of the images, I didn't take my Nikon over and the little handheld I was using stopped working a couple of weeks into the trip so the iPhone had to do the job.

There's simply too large of a story behind each image so I'm going to keep this simple and minimize the amount of words.

From Canberra we headed off to Bendigo to visit Doreen's friend, Carmen. Along the way we had to stop for some wine tasting.

Some pie eating.

IMGP0174

Biggest burgers I could find.

IMGP0182

This is pretty much what I saw in the rear view mirror for the next three weeks as we drove 3500kms. If you look closely you can see the hats Evan fashioned out of plastic cereal bowls.

IMGP0179

It was raining when we got to Bendigo, yes those are yellow gardening gloves and a yellow folding kids chair purchased in a local store. Flying to Australia and picking odd things.

IMGP0185

Bendigo has pubs.

IMGP0186

IMGP0188

And a groovy little boutique beer store where I picked up some interesting beers.

IMGP0192

Breakfast on Carmen's back deck.

IMGP0193

Visiting a nearby sheep sheering operation.

IMGP0200

IMGP0195

Drinking decent coffee and doing athlete files in a local Bendigo cafe, four days prior I had been racing on my bike at Worlds thinking about sitting in a coffee shop on a comfortable couch.

Leaving Carmen's place.

But first the boys had to show off their latest find.

Arriving in Melbourne and hitting the public transport.

In to the big market.

Arriving at one of our campervan sites and making new friends.

Walking to the beach for some exploring.

Coming back from the beach to make more friends.

Out for a couple of hours on the bike, trying to get lost and succeeding.

The fish and chip special at the local pub, I ate two specials that evening.

The ever-popular 'crane that picks little chocolate bars up'.

Popping wheelies at the oceans edge.

After too many towns to mention we arrived in Greater Sydney. Here we are on a fastcat ferry heading for downtown Sydney.

IMG_2325a

Enjoying the corn at a little farmers market area.

IMG_2326a

A nicer weather day at the Opera House.

IMG_2336a

IMG_2327a

Wandering around the Botanical Gardens.

IMG_2337a

Soon enough it was time to drop off the campervan and pack things up to head for the airport.

IMG_2340a

Over a day later we were landing back in Canada, just before we jumped off the plane the boys got to talk with the pilots.

IMG_2343a

As I've already said, this was a great trip and spending a month in the campervan was pretty fun. Watching the boys absorb another country was worth every penny. I would do it again in a hearbeat.

Awesome looking trip!!

I do have one question.

Is that an egg, ham, swiss, beet, tomato, and guacamole burger?

I ask because It looks so weird without the center cut boneless pork chop, mushrooms, and blue cheese crumbles on top.

Those Aussies are odd.

Haha, you pretty much nailed it. Gotta say I'm a big fan of the beet in there.
